WB Exclusive: Win a VIP meet with track legends Carl Fogarty & James Whitham
Two legends of motorbike racing are coming to in Llanelli on September 13, 2010 as part of their first UK chat show tour.
And — thanks to Welshbikers.co.uk — two lucky members will have the chance to meet them!
Four-times World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty, and his good friend and former British champion James Whitham, are set to appear at The Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli on September 13, 2010.
The event is part of Foggy and Whit: Givin' It Gas, www.foggyandwhit.co.uk the 2010 chat show tour, which is being staged at five venues across England and Wales over six consecutive nights in September.
And we are giving away a special VIP Package for two for the Llanelli event. The lucky winners will arrive ahead of the show, meet Carl and James for a chat and autographs. For runners up there will be two pairs of tickets up for grabs in our free to enter competition.
Described as an unmissable event for all sports fans, Carl and James will provide insight into today's world of racing, recall former glories and disasters, and discuss the burning issues of the day — on and off-track.
"We're really looking forward to coming to south Wales," said Carl, who can lay claim to the title of most successful World Superbike racer ever, based on the number of World titles and race wins he clocked up in his career.
"I've done one-off events before but never a full-scale tour like this, so this is unchartered territory for me. I don't see enough of James these days so it will be great to spend some time with him, but also with race fans throughout England and Wales.
"We've held one-off chat shows before and they always seem to go down well. We enjoy a bit of banter between us but it's also a chance for fans to say hello and ask their questions."
Straight-talking Yorkshireman James, who now works as a pundit for Eurosport, added: "I've known Carl for many years and this will be a perfect chance for a lot of people, who don't really know what he is like in private, to see the real Foggy. "He is a lot more relaxed these days and the chat shows we've done previously have been a right good laugh."
During his pomp as the king of the World Superbike circuit, Fogarty never shied away from controversy – in fact he often went out of his way to actively encourage it.
The tour starts on September 13 in Llanelli, moves to Hereford on the 14th, up to Penrith on 15th, across to Barrow-in-Furness on the 16th and closes with two dates in Scarborough, on 17th and 18th, in association with the 60th anniversary of the Gold Cup races. On-stage chat and questions will last around two hours and each event will feature a prize charity draw.
Tickets, priced £20, can be bought at www.foggyandwhit.co.uk. Details of corporate sponsorship and VIP packages can be obtained by emailing: corporate@foggyandwhit.co.uk
