A Language Filter
« on: October 31, 2009, 07:42:49 AM »
Some people use bad language and some people dislike bad language  :innocent

So would admin consider implementing a language filter feature?  :scratch

Basically, it'll asterisk-out certain "naughty" words in people's posts.

Members could PM admin if they want it turned on - or indeed off - for their account, or the process could be automated for you to do it yourself.

This feature could be a tremendous benefit to the site. Personally, I think that we could attract more members from other walks of life.

This would mean that you could continue to swear away as normal in your posts, in the knowledge that it can be automatically cleaned up if people wish it to be!

Hopefully this feature is a good compromise on both sides   :tup2

By the way. This is not a feature that I would personally use. I am not easily offended but I am very aware and in tune to the feelings of others (most of the time)  :hit

 :popcorn

Sorry phil I'm afraid it's a feature that's ethier on or off & we had this dicussion a few days ago where I had nothing but ear ache
but everyone knows over use of foul Language in there posts will lead to a instant ban without warning!
If such a feature is devised then it would certainly be used on this forum
