currently riding yam mt03 660.thinking of changing to a bmw.f650gs. with the new 800cc engine.anyone any thoughts.

I don't know the bike but all other bmw's i've sat on i've not been able to touch the ground

I test rode the new F650GS, and found the saddle to be almost as uncomfortable as a super sports for long haul rides.

You can spend extra for a touratech gel seat, but thats mega bucks.

The F800GS was just as bad too in the comfort stakes, but a bit better equiped for the money.

KTM 690sm if you really want an uncomfortable, too tall bike, but I am a bit biased

I was gonna say 990smt meself, but going from mt03 to 990smt might be a bit much, also where I live there's not much point in having more than 600/750cc to play with, I have to go twenty miles before I can get more than 80 safely, hence the Duke 620 instead of 950 sm (still an air breather, as opposed to the later 990 with fuel injection and engine management to screw things up)

Buy my Yamaha xt660z Tenere ,same engine as you already have but a much better allrounder and is fully loaded with everything you could possibly want ,also the seat has been proffesionally lowered ,half the price of a bmw 800 and more capable .
I was looking at getting a bmw but a few mates had them ,quite expensive to maintain and dont seem to have the build quality they used to have ,they corroded very easily ,plus bmw part prices

well i love mine - seat has been fine on my trip and i can reach the floor - but then i'm 6ft tall
