Aye. I've got 2 networks in the house so I was able to try and connect to the server via port 21 on the external network but im just getting a timeout.

I've got my routers port forwarding on 21 to my server, tried turning the server firewall off too. I've also got the server passive mode settings to how they should be (To the best of my knowledge!). User accounts set up etc etc..

Pulling my hair out here!

Are the two networks connected to two separate broadband connections? If not, that could be where it's going wrong. If you want, PM me the connection details and I'll try it from here just to rule that out.

Yeah they are.

Laptop isn't on at the moment. I'll turn it on later tonight then PM you the IP details. Cheers.

I did read on some sites that ISPs dont like people hosting FTP server so they could be blocking on port 21. Was gonna try another port but wasn't sure of which one. Anything over the 50000 range would do it, right?

Yeah, that should do it. It's outside any of the standard port ranges.

Sorry, just realised I'm not going to be home tonight, and probably not for the next day or two due to visiting family. I didn't realise how close to Xmas we are!  :oops

There's a Media plug in for SMF forums which isn'tr expensive, would give everyone their own album they can upload to (pics and videos) admin sets the quotas and as long as you have the site on servers with unlimited bandwidth there's no trouble
I beleive the system is by SMFhacks

Ah there we go, SMF Gallery Pro, it costs a mere $50 with updates for 1 year

Everyone gets their own account automatically based on permissions set within the forum software by admin

Oh, just had another idea

Admin, get hold of Videoget, it's a download tool which can grab videos from just about any of the popular video hosting sites
Everyone can then upload to their favourite site
Then if you see a vid you like, ask the owner's permission and download it to your PC then upload to the Welsh Bikers Youtube channel
