Welsh Bikers Blog...At Last
« on: June 15, 2011, 04:28:49 PM »
OK Since the dawns of time it's been talked about so I've finally got my ass in gear & arranged something.

A WB Blog, Well we are not live just yet but will be very soon as Mr Bikelawyer is nipping at my ankles & raring to go..

Now I had it all planned out but the more I think about it the more I hit a crossroads so I thought I'd post up & ask what you guys think.

Now I can either create a blog where WB members can comment using their username & current password or create a blog where you can just read but can't comment.

What's your thoughts?
Would you use the comment system?

I'll go with the majority here so it's important you have your say :tup2

Please comment below & don't forget to also vote above :tup2

I would like to voice an opinion on this, however...at the risk of sounding stupid - whats a 'Blog' and how dose it vary from a forum?

They are both similar & at one time it was decided to place it within the forum but I think it would clog the forum up with too much.

A blog is like a diary - more a day to day life thing & was going on in the world

I have the same problem, especially at work where I have to use a lot of e-commerce and tendering websites.

Simple answer:
When you save the site as a favourite include the user name and password in the favourite name you've saved it as.

ie: Welshbikers-Fred-HappytimeThis way you can't ever forget your user/password.

Before you try logging in with the above it's JUST an example !   :tt

I personally wouldn't use the blog, I wouldn't post and definitely wouldn't read other peoples blogs.   However I wouldn't appose a blog happening because if it was there and I never used it then it would make no difference to me.   On the other hand,  There could end up with very few threads on the forum many of the regular posters would care to be a part of if the blogs were part of the forum.  It's a tough call, your forum and you make the rules but it seems you can't even decide whether it would be best to keep it seperate or inclusive.   The gamble I think is,  if it's seperate and it fails, the forum stays.   If it's included in the forum it could ruin everything if it fails but if it's successful that may be good for you but will ruin the forum as we know it for us regular users.   Depends on what you want out of welshbikers and what you're awilling to gamble.
Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?
