yesterday evening
« on: March 16, 2011, 08:47:39 AM »
Met up with Stuey yesterday about 4.30 in newport for a little bimble about. after a quick catch up we headed off to make the most of the positively tropical afternoon.

once we'd cleared the traffic through caerleon we had a relatively quiet, mud free, road right through to usk. then onto the B4235 up to chepstow. The chippins laid at the end of last year have pretty much beded in and any loose ones cleared away, with the last couple of miles through the tight corners having had a new tarmac wearing course.  :thumb_up stopped at the racecourse garage to get Stuey's reaction to the first time on that road and the last couple of bends  :rofl

Still had the light on our side so headed up towards monmouth, through tintern on the A466. there were about 5 sets of traffic lights road works  :thumb_down. latter end was better but a few sections of loose gravel in the road washed down with the rain.  :eek

running out of light, time and petrol we headed back down A449 to usk for Stuey to get some juice - £1.35  :shocked.

back to cearleon and i left Stuey near the coldra. Good run - cheers again  :thumbsup

oh - then nearly fell off the bike when i got home and seen the missus cooking my tea   :shocked :shocked
thats the 3rd time in nearly 6 years!!  :rofl :rofl

Nice one mate.... :tup2

Went that way myself Sat morning, spur the moment thing. The B4235 is ok now as you said. And what's with all the temporary traffic lights, a right pain in the arse.  :taz

Was that Stuey's first ride along the B4235?  I know i've said before, but that's one good road  :tup2

Yeah was my first time, lovely road but think I should have approached it with less adrenaline, was out my comfort zone a few times as noted by the look of fear in the oncoming cyclists eyes  :eek

Some lovely roads, shame about all the roadworks/temp. traffic lights.
Was a good ride though and nice to catch up.
