Sunny but Cold
« on: June 24, 2011, 07:52:54 PM »
:old   Was nice and sunny this morning, my wife and daughter had gone for a girls morning out so, ideal time for a ride, whoopee!   Took my camera to take a Bike of the Month Pic and headed for Barry for a coffee but, having got that far, decided to make it a bit further and headed for Bridgend on the coast road.

Roads were pretty quiet but did see and wave to a number of bikes as I plodded along enjoying the scenery.    :scooter    Before I got to Bridgend I was regretting my decision not to wear a scarf or neck warmer, by god it was chilly!    :eek   Got to Bridgend and it seemed a bit daft not to head for Porthcawl so, of I went, and of course if I was going to Porthcawl why not drop in on the Stig unannounced.   Surprise surprise I was welcomed in for a warming cuppa and a chat, what a nice bloke,   and what a lovely wife he's got,  (it's OK, I did say the same thing to my wife,    :hit   ).

After talking around the houses it was time to go so, turning down another cuppa, (big mistake), I headed back for Cardiff, but not before taking my bike pic on the sea front.   Wanted to open my bike up a bit so came home along the M4 which, as those who know me, is not normally my chosen route.   Even more unusual for me I ended up overtaking other vehicles!   Couple off lorries, an artic, a couple of cars and, even bigger surprise, another bike, couldn't believe it    :rofl    Of course, I didn't break the speed limit once    :innocent   and was a good boy all the way home.

Got home around 2.30, didn't seem to have taken that long, was having such a good time.   When I stopped though I noticed just how cold I was by then, sun was gone and sky was overcast.   Parked the bike up and went in for another cuppa, five minuets later it was pouring down, had got there just in time.    :thumbsup

Hope that's not the end off summer and I get out a lot more in future.     :cya
