Sunday Stroll
« on: May 09, 2011, 01:06:31 AM »

Rideout today was up North West to the Lleyn Peninsula.
The day started well  :thumb_up,
Up the A487 Dolgellau, road was still a little damp but clear skies.
Joined the A470, stopped off at Coed Y Brenin Bike Centre for a quick paned.
Lot of expensive mountain bikes, some of them cost more than my bike. :shocked
Very nice though.
Carried on up North, next stop was Llyn Mair Maentwrog,a very picturesqe place so took some photos.
Oh no you say that bloody blue bike again. :roll_eyes
Took a jet ski on there once and got chased by the National Park Warden. :rofl  :leaving
Back on the road and headed for Prenteg just outside Porthmadog, went over the top to Cwm Ystradllyn also very nice and took a pic of the old slate mill there.
Back on some A roads and headed for Pwllheli via Llanystymdwy A497.
Next stop was Aberdaron, very windy today but lovely scenery and nice beach,oh yes took a pic of Hells mouth on the way as well.
Didn't stop at Aberdaron cause the dark clouds were looming :sweat
Took a pic of Bardsey Island, plan to go there one day.
Was planning on a quick getaway but stopped at a cafe nearby and got chatting with an old Rally mate, it was nice to catch up on old times but the clouds had circled above, :oops
Quick getaway but to no avail, tried to dodge them as much as i could and did rather well until i got to Porthmadog but then the heavens opened.
I know that Wales is God's own country but when that guy needs a piss he sure does on hell of a big one.
Oh well nothing to do just carry on,kept on twds Dolgellau and the sun came out.
Took some quick pics above Dinas Mawddwy and headed home.
Drying out tonight, thank god for the Raeburn but not the fwkin rain. :rofl
Some pics below.

Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

It's true,  you've not seen the true beauty of Wales until you've seen it through a helmet visor.  God must have been a biker to give us these places to ride. Just beware The Grim Reaper as he knows these secrets too.  Nice one.

Bundle of fun you are  :roll_eyes,i thought i was born without sense of humour. :rofl
Anyway as the Buddhist belief goes you need to face death and accept it before you can fully live life, the grim reaper is always welcome to join me on my rides if he wishes to,but he must be prepared for a lot of toilet stops,me bladder is not what it used to be. :rofl

Some pics i forgot
Hells mouth,Aberdaron Beach,Wistling Sands/Porth Oer.

Nice trip know it well, looks if you had the roads to yourself, great roads to scrub in yor new tyres, corners aplenty too. I bet you enjoyed the ride with the new uprated rear suspension, I've forgotten where you got it from and the make?
Who needs a to take a camera when all the pics are done on your phone, what make is it?
All the best,
Rob
