Sunday 6th of November
« on: November 07, 2011, 08:41:41 AM »
It was a chilly morning in November and all was quiet, until I forgot to put me fleece on and the air was blue inside my helmet.  We met Fuzzylogic and Rumble at Terry's and set off for Newquay. Just outside of Lampeter there was an incident with three or four police vehicles a ambulance , a council flatbed and the air ambulance which was just taking off, don't know what it was about, no signs of an accident perhaps somebody can enlighten us.  Anyway got to Newquay with plans to have lunch near the front but every road was blocked of for some Mountain Bike race through the streets so we set off for Aberearon and had a lovely meal by the harbour while watching MotoGP.  Travelling north we turned off for Devil's Bridge at Aberystwyth and then onto the Elan Valley road for our trip into "pot hole and puddles land". Still bright at this point albeit a bit chilly in the shade.  After Coffee and Cake at the visitor centre the sun was falling below the mountain tops and it was 1° leaving Elan Valley.  The trip home took us through Rhayader, Builth and then Brecon and by now it was well dark and bracing to say the least (Note: must remember my fleece next time) but my heated grips were on full and I had toasty palms.  All in all a pleasant day out

Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

Nice ride & good pics. I was approaching Lampeter when the Air Ambulance was landing. Went on to Aberaeron & back to Pontardulais via Cardigan.
Lovely day out.
