Sunday 5th Sept
« on: September 05, 2010, 03:43:05 PM »
Will it rain... won't it rain... will it rain.... won't it rain...

Bollox to it, i'm going out!!

Had to jump on the beema as the blade has zero legal rubber on the rear and headed to Terrys. Got a bit pissed on, but as I was sealed into my waterproof bubble, I was quite happy.

Met a few of the usual suspects - Chamz, Wadge, Pope ect and had a brew before heading to Llandovery West end. Luckily as I was on the not so nippy beema, I avoided flying past the police bike laying in wait near Trecastle  :handjob, he pulled out just infront of me with his blues on to upset some poor soul.

Another brew at the West End, bumped into Shatz and her motley crew and also Hamster & Daz.

Parted company with everyone at the west end, and decided to go and abuse the lanes...

Wow!! found some suberb tracks, with fantastic views overlooking Careg Cennan Castle and also played sheapard for a bit by hearding a bunch of sheaps along a track for a good half mile!

Gravel by the bucket load, sheep shit all over the place and wet mud on every bend - superb fun!!

I've managed to recall the majority of the route on the google map linkie below (minus the detour to Terrys) for anyone else to follow if you don't mind stinking up your bike and only using second gear for half the trip!!

Another fab day  :thumbsup

Got SOAKED on the 470 on the way up to Brecon.

Then it kept raining there but as soon as we left it was dry as were the roads  :clap

Headed up to the Caff.
As Redbull said cars were flashing us so I slowed down and couldn't work out why they were flashing?   :scratch

Then was told at the caff there was a bike cop hiding but for the life of me I couldn't spot him  :handjob
Hiding in the hedge on the straight before the caff I think.

Then stopped at the caff and met Hamster and Daz and we all headed up to Crossgates.

Roads still nice and dry was fab  :tup2

Only got the one pic as my battery had died.  Shame as wedge did a pass with his kneedown on the corner in the "my favourite corner" thread and I didn't catch it on cam  :rofl

We headed left outta Crossgates and back that way, past hundred houses etc.  Really nice road
Then back to Terry's

Good to meet a few new people today, Ja6on, Beads and Henners  :tup2

Then back from Terry's my mate in his Nissan GTR headed off a couple of minutes before us so I headed off after him

That thing is FAST  :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek

my 1000cc bike could NOT catch him in a straight let alone in the corners.
Insane!  :thumbsup

well i watched the moto GP and then left my bro's at crencester and took every "A" road i could find to end up im chepstow 130 miles later, i was a bit worried about getting caught out in the rain so i headed back on the M4 to newport then got back off for a few round abouts on the docks link road......
back onto the boring M4 to anoy traffiic and then back to sunny porthcawl :tup2

the new toy didn't miss a beat, though is lacking in the power to pull up the front without help of the clutch...

with a total of over 200 miles once detours and wrong turns were counted, i'm very happy :tup2
although i do need to get the suspension sorted and the front breaks will need to be stripped and rebuilt with new seals, but that will be a winter job!

Ed the ZX7R's aren't the best wheelie bikes they're quite front heavy which is why you don't see the Americans stunting them like GSXR's etc

Bargain though  :tup2

same thing happened to three of us last year, a subaru impretsa with all the bell's and whistle's pulled out in front off us in on the road from builth to llandovery, what a blast that was  :eek :eek :eek never ever seen a car go that fast on the road, the boy's i was with don't hang about one on a blade and one on a gsxr 600 and my zzr12, on the big straight on the top of the sugar loaf we were up his arse at warp factor 9 at least so i dont knowe what speed he was doing,he started overtaking on blind bend's where a bike would be dodgey on a mad day  :shocked just to stay in front,we droped back before he killed someone else wasent worth it  :handjob
