Still in shock
« on: September 05, 2010, 09:44:22 PM »
went out on Friday went the usual A470 up to Builth then on to Rhayder accross to newtown then welshpool than back via Shrewsbury, minsterley, bishops castle, knighton, kington, eardisley, hay on wye brecon etc ha a great day lovely weather bike was going great a successful day  i spotted a victim (white boots R6 personal plate)  so i foccerred him on the way to terrys and then let him past and then went and foccerred him again, if you wera white boots you are a target.

went out yesterday with some advanced people up to pontypool , ystrad, over blanaeu then abergavenny and then hay on wye all going well larking about with rusty and we were joined by born2race then we stopped in hay on wye then on the road from hay to brecon i got a bit complacent and decided to hoon past a fellow foccer on a left hand bend i looked at him as i went past , forgot about the bend got the bike way out of shape almost grabbed a load of brake but ended up on the wrong side of the road going rather quick trying to turn the bike whichdidnt want to turn as i was looking at an oncoming bmw instead of around the bend. fortunately the bmw turned off before i plowed into it and i managed to get around the bend , it felt like the front wheel was going sideways and the back wheel was in the air, i was informed by my fellow foccer that i wasnt far wrong with my summary. it was only a split second but it could have been game over so be careful chaps, ive done a fair few miles recently so i think the recent mileage helped me avoid binning it by grabbing a handful of front. i could blame my front tyre which does need replacing or maybe a bit of gravel but i would be lying it was all my own fault for fucking about. it takes a moment like that sometimes to make you think about what youre doing and although it didnt slow me down on the rest of the way home it did make me pay more attention to what i was doing.

friday 260 miles
yesterday 160 miles

Too much foccering can be bad for you by the sounds of it   :rofl

kinda demonstrates that looking where you're going is quite important in making the bike go the same way

They don't teach that on the test and IMO it's one of the most important things

I did exactly the same thing on the Symonds Yat rideout a few weeks ago. We were going through the lanes towards Crickhowell and I overtook a Range Rover on a nice straight bit of road only to find myself hurtling towards a 90 degree left hander which goes across a bridge over the canal! The road was a bit dirty and I really thought I was gonna hit the wall end up in the canal!! :shocked Managed to get it stopped........just, but had a car been coming the other way I would not have avoided it!!

Live and learn eh! :thumb_up

:i_agree

Been there and it's scary, around a left gander and thought I'm a bit close to the white line and that cars a bit close, looked at it for a bit too long and sat the bike up, thank god for counter steering! Had to stop at the next lay-by until the shakes had gone!  :rofl

Ride safe people.

I saw nothing but perfectly smooth riding with each bend being taken with the precision and quality of an advance rider that even Police riders would have envied!

What we can surmise from this thread is that DHD's advanced training is definitely paying off  :thumbsup

It was a right hander that did it for me, i also missed a wall, but ran out of road and ended up in a heap.
