Porthcawl today
« on: March 19, 2011, 04:28:06 PM »
Apologies for not having pics but my phone battery life is about 4 minutes at the moment  :roll_eyes

Sent out a load of texts at midday as I fancied a spin, but not far due to skintness to decided on Porthcawl.

Headed to Higgy's and met him and Whizzy Rascal there.
Then DHD and Steve_Cardiff turned up closely followed by Rusty
Higgy got his cans delivered so chucked them on and headed off up the A48 towards Porthcawl  :scooter

My exhaust fell of AGAIN on route  :censored :banghead :taz :thumb_down
Safely stashed to pick up tomorrow hopefully it won't get nicked by Jippos  :weed

Just before entering Porthcawl, where the Texaco is and the car dealership opposite we spot some commotion

2 Ambulances
Police car
Police bike etc etc

I then see Squidgys bike and my heart sinks  :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek :eek
I stop and see Squidgy stood there and luckily he tells me it's none of us

Apparently a guy on a hornet was chasing 2 Hayabusas, reached the roundabout too quickly, panicked, hit the front brake and went down.
Narrowly missing a lamp post  :eek
Broken leg squidgy said

The standard of riding I've seen today everywhere generally has been poor too.
Some  :handjob followed us out of Ely and the passing he was doing on the A48 with junctions and traffic everywhere made me wince
Left him to it  :handjob

First sunny day and it's always like this, especially around the Porthcawl run

Firstly a big thanks to Rusty, DHD and Steve_Cardiff for fitting on the new cans  :thumbsup Sounds soooooo good  :drool
Met up with Whizzy Rascal at 10:30 and headed out to 'practice our control' on a big roundabout had some good fun.

Had a call to say a parcel was on it's way so headed back home where we met up with Pope, DHD, Steve Cardiff and Rusty who fitted the cans. Was like 60 minute make over; by the time I'd opened the new cans the old ones were off with Steve working on the one side Rusty on the other and DHD underneath fixing on springs. And of course Pope overseeing the procedure and me well I was the official photographer.

Final result:

Not a gread video - didn't realise I took a photo when I meant a video DOH!
Thanks Again!  :group_hug
As you roll off the throttle it pops like a good'n.  :thumbsup

Headed down to Porthcawl then as Pope said and the bike feels totally different to last weekend. Suspension adjusted and cans fitted have transformed the bike.

Good Job Pope :tup2

It was the season for numpties today & I have to echo Pope on the standard of driving today

Porthcawl as peeps know is my hometown & everyone from here hides this time of year becuase them know what to expect

Complete tossers that are hell bent on crossing busy roads & duel carrigeways without out looking or having any preservation for life in general just to get a bag of chips this is closely follows by the younger sprogs of the family.

Thisw also goes for car drivers who are on the same mission for a tasty bag of fat & think that:-
A, People dont exsist in Porthcawl so there's no need for brakes

B, Traffic rules & regulations this includes parking) are not to be obayed on a sunny day thus leaving the family scrapper in the middle of a busy street in the afternoon & blocking traffic while the head of the household runs in & queues for chips is A OK

On the plus side me & the wife do occentionly go spotting for the worst dressed tripper :rofl & also have a competition to spot the first mark 5 cortina of the season

Ive not seen one yet :gun_draw

Excellent report, exhausts look awesome Higgy. Well done to all for helping out  :tup2.

All I did today was clean all the crap off my bike from the past couple of weeks weather and clean and oil my chain.

Didn't go out as it was my little girls birthday.  :thumbsup

Shame I'm not nearer you guys, or I'd join you.

Sat in the house looking out the window because my cover note hadn't turned up after changing my bike, so I couldn't get tax.
 :no

I'll be doing the same tomorrow as well  :no
