The good weather predicted for Sunday didn't happen but nevertheless Geraint

and myself decided to go to North Wales for a spin. We headed for Rhayader (had lunch before the big push)

then took the scenic route up the A470 toward Dolgellau, the weather was grey and misty but there were quite a few bikers to be seen here. We then took the B4416 toward Brithdir to join the A494 toward Bala. The scenery was outstanding from this point on, I can only describe this road as being as popular as the Brecon to Abergavenny rides with the number of bikers, all trying to get their knee down.

Stopped at Bala and took some pics then pushed on to the A4212 passing LLyn Celyn Reservoir, where the roads weren't really challenging, open bends and long straights, still loads of yokels blasting around. Took a quick look at Trawsfynydd then a fuel stop for bikes and riders, on to the A487 to Machynlleth where the weather took a bit of a turn for the worse, but didn't dampen the spirits or the enjoyment of the day! Then over the mountain to Llanidloes to join the A470 back to Rhayader and by this time the weather had improved. Another fuel stop in Builth then back to Terry's, it was now around 7.30pm so it was no surprise that there was nobody there, I'd been looking forward to a burger, ahh well! Got home about 8.30pm, covered around 270miles, knackered

but we had an epic ride! Brilliant day!!
