dhustonesteve and 7 counties
« on: August 01, 2010, 10:15:02 AM »
left the house yesterday and met up with rosie and cardiff steve to head down to stp for the open day. We got there and i bought a cuppa and then pope told me if i wanted to test ride the brutale i had to go there and then (no tea bah!)

Well the Brutale : Looks pretty (ish) handles ok (ish) the engine is just stunning sooooo smooth and yet torquey too anyway i rode it like a big blind girl  but got back in one piece. After a mooch about and blagging a 2nd cuppa for free we eventually headed off to with a few extras in tow (muffy, asbo, chamz, dyslexic nick, and others maybe ?? arrived at Abergavenny (yawn) as usual it was full of the shiny bike knobhead brigade especially a bunch of cocks on italian exotica who were on some kind of test ride from somewhere (one of them smashed the headlight on my earlier Brutale ride tut tut Taffy  :nono )

Anyhoo me and steve cardiff headed off towards Ross on wye via Rockfield , cracking bit of road except for the looses chipping demons have coated it. Then from Ross we went towards Malvern via Much Marcle (home of fred west) then ledbury then over the worcester beacons and into Malvern for a spot of lunch at a relatives house. we then headed north ish towards tenbury wells via kyre park this road was a bit scruffy with the odd patch of gravel which i saw steve celebrating one particular patch by kicking his foot off the peg in joy and screaming with his eyes on stalks, then up to clee hill village and then the home of lunacy the villages of Dhustone and Bedlam.

we then dropped down into ludlow where steve tried to sell his arse for fuel money, then headed out towards craven armpit, but turned off for knighton instead to a cracking road which went on for ages where we really got some riding done only one car pulled out on me which was a bit of a wake up and prompted a drink /fag phone stop. then thru hereford to monmouth then boring a449 where we did some roll on tests and concluded that a cbr1000 does its stuff at low revs but gets spanked by a fazer as the revs go up or something like that.

it was dry all over england  but we got fucking rained on in the last ten mins into cardiff, a grand day out with 260 miles and 7 counties covered

dhustonesteve ?

top of the world

ludlow bumlove on offer

Had a great day with some mad roads. Had no idea where I was so just followed Dave around all day. Had a 2 wheel slide on gravel that woke me up a bit.

The lanes down to Monmouth were fooking great. Fast, narrow in places, twisty everywhere, and went on for miles and miles. It got to the point where I had to stop cos I couldn't concentrate on the corners properly, and everytime I looked down at the speedo we were 'making progress'. 5 minutes at the roadside gave time for my brain to catch up and then it was more of the same.  :thumb_up

Ledbury..................nice chippie :tup2

Leigh Sinton (Malvern) Good fishing on the Christmas Tree farm place...............Plenty of Carp taken on top of the water using bread or dog biscuits. Use light tackle good fun :tup2
