OK here goes.
Was praying for dry weather today because I've been wanting to go along Devils staircase after talking about it so much lately. So when I woke up this morning I was not happy when I looked outside. So I decided to check the weather forcast for the day and it did show rain intervals and it showed sunshine in Llandovery for early afternoon, so I thought go for it and hopefully I'll miss the worst parts.
Got to Llandovery and only had a few very light showers, was dying for the loo so went into the cafe, didn't fancy a coffee as I was to eager to go and see what all the fuss was about the devils staircase, but when I came out of the loo it was pissing it down outside so I decided to have a quick coffee and hopefully the worst would have passed over.
Set off after it seemed to have settled down, but from there on I did get light and very heavy showers, but I thought to myself, "it was nothing compared to Scotland"

so I carried on and enjoyed it all. Turned off in LLanwrtyd Wells and surprisingly enough I never got lost

The rain came down and I thought that there was no way I'm going to be able to get my phone and take pictures in this weather, but I thought that if I didn't then you might think that I'm a "ikkle lire" and never went

so I did manage to take a few pictures in between the showers.

but to be honest with you those bends a quite similar to some Ive been on around St Dogmaels and Star and Cwmtydu,so I had no worries, but going back a bit, before coming to those bends there is a long straight road and a sheer drop to my left, that was more scary to me, luckily there was no one around so I rode on the right hand side of the road

Surprisingly though with the weather as it was, I did pass a few other bikers there as well but all going in the opposite direction, so if those bikers were you then I was the the billy no mates you passed

Anyway I kept going and came to part of the road where it was signposted Llandovery to my left but no sign to say where I was heading to if I carried on so I carried on, it seemed to go on and on for ever until eventually I ended up in Tregaron. Wanted to head for Aberystwyth but never saw a sign for it so I ended up in Lampeter

see my sense of direction is crap

I really wanted to go home along the coast as I do love that road so much, so from Lampeter I went to Aberaeron and went back to cardigan along the coast and had glorious sunshine follow me all the way home. 135 miles later I'm parked up at home and had a look at the bike, and thought, oh my god you so do need a wash, poor thing is filthy, but it was a fantastic run out. Will go again when the weather is a lot nicer.
