Terry (aka Bean455) of STPMotorsport in Pontypool brought his brand new 2010 MV Agusta Brutale 1090 along to Rosies BBQ the other week and it was love at first sight  :drool

He then mentioned it was a demo model and very kindly offered me a go to see what I thought as he's also previously let me ride his brand new F4 1000 model.

The 1090 Brutale uses last years 312R engine from the flagship superbike, so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed  :thumbsup

Headed down to STP motorsport in Pontypool today with Wedge and Tank.

Wedge had his eye on a very nice Daytona 675 so he took that out and I took out the Brutale.
All filled up and away we go.
Headed up to Brecon and stopped at Terrys for a bit (quiet today) before moving on to Defynnog for some pics and vids

The MV was just as I was expecting and more.
I have not ridden a modern bike with as much low down shove as the new Brutale 1090.
You really have to ride it to understand, it's that mad.

I thought it had been down-geared when I got on it.  Like Terry said, a Supermoto on steroids.
Only even quicker than I could contemplate.
Even taking it steady I nearly disapperead off the back in the first 2 gears.

Everything feels quicker on a naked bike, but this was just something else  :eek

I've been told it will do 154mph before the rider loses his bottle and has to back off before his neck breaks  :innocent

And the Italians know how to style a bike.  God it's pretty

The only gripe I can mention is the fuel economy.  Those MV's sure are thirsty.
But then that's missing the point entirely. they're not designed to be efficient.
they're designed to GO LIKE FUCK, and they do that damn well  :clap

couple of vids.....

Wedge really got along with the Daytona too.

I'll let him post his review though

Gorgeous bike, really nicely styled

And just to prove the Mv is the devil bike, I stopped to take a pic of the mileage!  :eek :eek :eek :eek

Thanks again to Terry at STP.  top bloke.  Buy your bike related stuff off him  :thumbsup

Yep was a damn animal.  Scared me a bit to be honest, which I like in a bike  :thumbsup

MV's are a big investment no question, but if you're after something a bit different than your average Gixer then it's just the ticket.
Same price as most flagship bikes such as Ducatis etc, so definitely worth considering.

Terry rides them harder than anyone  :innocent :rofl

I really like those Brutales, but I'm curious how the new RSV4 Tuono will compare against it and the Ducati Streetfighter. Maybe next year.

That new V4 Tuono is going to be a weapon I reckon  :tup2

Terry said he'll take the new StreetFighter that he has in out soon to see how it compares to his MV Brutale

The MV makes about 170bhp where as the streetfighter makes nearer 140 so I reckon the MV will emerge the victor

STP's new Ducati Streetfighter

and another of their showroom

must be a hard job deciding what to take out for a spin from work each day
