Biggest Breakfast Bap ever, for £3
« on: June 29, 2011, 10:34:59 PM »
Riding aimlessly around Afan forest and took a turn towards the Mountain Bike Centre Cymmer/Duffryn Rhondda and guess what?

New, opened today, Biker Break Cafe. Biggest breakfast bap I've ever had... two black pud slices, two sausages, two bacons, eggs and bean and coffee, three quid.
Ride a bit, stop, drink tea, ride a bit more.

:tup2 Thanks for that. The road over the Blwch is a favorite ride of mine, nice and technical at places. No repeat ride is the same, if you know the road well, depending on traffic, weather and road conditions  the run can last below 10 mins to over 20 mins.
Looks like that eaterie has taken a leaf out of the van behind Port Talbot railway station!  easy to find and well worth the money  :thumbsup

From Cymmer take the road Heol Y Glyn towards Glyncorrwg.
It's not far and on the left-side you'll see a layby with a wooden cafe.

It's brand new and worth the visit even though the road comes to a dead end at Glyncorrwg.
It's called Bikers Break, I think more for the mountain bikers that you see hurtling down the track on the other side of the valley, but the owner assures me, motorbikers are just as welcome , even if they haven't shaved their legs and covered themselves in lycra.
Ride a bit, stop, drink tea, ride a bit more.

They do a big breakfast too. Now it took 35 minutes to get through the Brekkie bap, so settle in if you want to get even bigger. I'd make a day of it. Still cheaper than a bacon sarnie at the Ace Cafe, or a slice of cake and a cuppa in Llandovery.

Some interesting roads up over the top there too.
Ride a bit, stop, drink tea, ride a bit more.

Just took a spin up there to find the place and had a variation of the bap as they were out of the large baps.

One of each in a small bap. Takes some eating I can tell you. :-)

Even asked if I was from Welshbikers.

:eek Ya never told em anything did ya  :eek ???

Godd to hear of somewhere doing good food rather than the rubbish a lot of places serve  :thumbsup
Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

Just up the road from me,  under 5 miles.   Ain't been there or heard of it either.   Will be going soon.  :feeding  wonder how early they open?   finish work in gorseinon at 6am about half hour away.  have to visit the link for their website to find out.
Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?

You're a Caerau boy and your being fussy?   :rofl

I'll come with you and have your black pud then.   Even bigger breakfast bap for me.  :feeding

My wife Making my food for work tonight and for my early morning break  I got bacon, sausages, mushrooms, beans and black pud chopped into small pieces all the way through, all wrapped up in a tortilla wrap.
I love my black pud.  :drool

My wife is asking does anybody know if the sauce is free or if you need to buy portions at the biker break cafe?   :rofl
Talk about looking for a negative.

In case you would like to know (can't see why you would),  for my earlier break I got southern fried chicken, cheese and jack daniels bbq sauce in a wrap.  If any of you ain't tried  'Jack Daniels' BBQ sauce you're missing out   :drool  it's better than reggae reggae any day.

Starving now.   Can't wait for my chilli and rice.

I *thought* I saw 7am. Certainly there is a post on Facebook at 07:25 with no power back in July.
