Ere e goes again.
Always without sacrificing safety here is my opinion ( not original I hasten to say )

Straight rd . Just to left on centre line so that you & bike are all to left of line. Modify this if you have oncoming lorry with line of cars behind as a car might decide to overtake the lorry without being aware you are there. ie go more to left.

Left bend ahead. As for straight rd , counter steer into corner & accelerate when you see the vanishing point move away from you.

Right bend. Go as near left side as you feel comfortable, counter steer into corner & accel to VP

Overtaking. Do not get into " the death triangle ". This is the right angled triangle you can imagine behind what you are overtaking, with the right angle on left. The idea is that in this area if the vehicle brakes hard you will land up as part of their boot & dead.
Plan your overtake, pull out to offside for a look & if safe indicate & accelerate smoothly; pulling in when safe.

Foregoing is simplified & there are all kinds of situations where you would do something safer.

Discus please.

Agree with most of it: Except: two points

Planing your overtake, you say pull out to offside for a look & if safe indicate & accelerate smoothly
Wouldn’t a safer method be?  M.S.P.S.G.  Mirror, Signal, Position, Speed, Gear, then accelerate smoothly to overtake (its what I taught as an ADI) your method assumes rider is in right gear, could you assume a new rider would be in the Right Gear?

Signalling: you should signal when necessary if it would help or assist another road-user, but always when Turning Left, Right or Entering/exiting a Roundabout.
So surely the Signal should be given before you move out, not after
Your Method informs the driver your overtaking, of your intentions, after you move out to overtake, so he won’t see you unless he looks in his Side-Mirrors, your method assumes he Will, can you safely Assume this?
Because once you’ve moved your position out, You’re out of View in his Rear-Vision-Mirror.

Q. Nowadays most riders are taught counter steering (which is good) but does any one get taught Counter Balancing Now ????

(Aren’t Assumptions the mother of all F*** ups, A good policy is Never Assume Anything at any Time) keep it rubber side Down?
Living Life to the FULL !! Cos. thats all we've Got !

Left corner, get over to the right hand half of your lane. Opens up the bend and allows you to see if there is a tractor or something stopped around the corner.

Right corner, get over to the left hand half of your lane. Opens up the bend and allows you to see if there is a tractor or something stopped around the corner.

Going straight ahead, Middle of road, don't see a point in "left of centre" leaves you less visible to oncoming traffic.

Planning overtakes. If on a straight road, move to the right, observations, SIGNAL, gear change, lifesaver, move into other lane accelerate past.

If on a bendy road, follow the guidelines above, they'll allow you to see around the corner better, give you extra time to observe and as the road straightens out, signal, select gear, lifesaver, move into other lane and go.

I'm just a newbie rider mind taking the advice he got from his friends doing IAM. :\
