well after 20 years i am finally about to take my test. well start with that cbt, should do that no problem (was no problem last time anyways). but friday i got that theory thing. i bought a set of dvds off ebay for the hazard perception part. am just starting to get my head around it. not sure if the practice dvd is anything like the real thing or not but i find sometimes i click just a bit too soon so i miss the points but other times when i click i only get 3 points. cant quite understand how that works. sure i can pass it tho... took 3 mocks and passed them all so far. done the mock theory on the dvla website and passed that easily.
not so sure why i have this thing in my head about this theory stuff. maybe its down to thinking what could have been. i rode bikes 20 years ago when there was no theory tests and you could ride a 250 on l plates but for some reason didnt get around to taking my test back then.
anyways thanks to stef of cardiff motorcycle school. looking forward to getting back on a bike again after a few years off!

You'll be in good hands with Stef.

Enjoy it.  (But you will wish you'd done it 20 years ago!!!).

The Hazard Perception is a black art. I had the DVDs a couple of years back when I was teaching my boy to drive. I could easily pass the HC test as I knew all the questions from previous training, but I found it was possible to click too early for the hazards. There's quite a tight time-window to make sure you get the points.

What I worked out was if you click-click-click all the way through you get disqualified, but if you recognise a hazard and then immediately click click with about a second inbetween, it improves the score no end.

I'm not talking about cheating your way through, but maximising the scores once you recognise the hazard. I got the lad to do this and he passed so it didn't do him any harm.
