Nice one stuey :thumbsup

The 1800 miles you've done, are they just riding or practicing your manouvres aswell?

My wife done her test last november, i booked her test for her in the october and told her to get out and pratice :rofl
We went out and not only did road riding, but went through all the manouvres and all different sorts of riding like country lanes and city's.

With the help of keith she passed both first time :thumbsup

Well done to keith aswell :thumbsup Top bloke

quote "Finally, to finish off and to give back some/my words of wisdom to other learners about to do Mod1 .... the key to it is to familiarise yourself with each exercise, especially get the feel and find out your speed on any practice swerve and emergency stops. Approach each exercise as a single task; try to ignore all the others following , just concentrate on the exercise in hand. As mentioned before, always do the lifesavers before moving off and prior to your turn for the u turn. As for the swerve and emergency stop ... the test centre tarmac is very grippy (apparently its specially prepared to give it this finish), try to hit 20ish on the bend so you're not really opening the throttle widly on the exit. Its not difficult, but does need to be approached with concentration and a positive attitude."

To be honest mate that test as hard as it is WILL make you a safer better rider .

I liked the fact you said the rear felt like it was slipping so you let go off the rear brake , most would just keep on till they fell offf.
Your aware of what is happening on the bike  thats cool dude . :thumbsup

Part 2 of your test now is the easier part , but a smooth ride without wobbles is what they want to see and forward planning and safe distance from parked cars and oncoming vehicles .

Nice one Stuey :thumb_up :cheers

The miles were a mix of road/city driving and industrial estate practices. I found that I got bored very easily of practising u turns, etc and hence took myself out of my comfort zone very early on and forced myself to get into busy traffic (initially on roads I knew), I found this "thrown into the deep end approach" definitely helped. Just hope I can get the smoothness to my riding now (easing off the throttle to slow down and then to speed up, currently the bike lurges).
