DAS/33bhp tests, mid wales
« on: February 16, 2011, 03:08:01 AM »
Hiya all

I'm currently searching for ideal places/riding schools to take my full bike test soon this year.
Thing is, living in Llandrindod Wells, its quite rural up here.
7 miles away in Builth Wells, there is a riding school called riding edge, it's where i did my CBT last year. They do a DAS course, but its expensive due to the fact they use harley davidsons(although i will give them a ring to confirm prices).

So really i'm looking for somewhere cheaper, but not so far away i'd have to travel miles and miles to get there. I think i'd prefure to take DAS but would certainly consider the 33hp restricted test and training, if such training/test taking is local to me

This seems to be the best i found in terms of price You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login  the training for DAS is located in Abergavenny, and you can take the Mod 1 in Newport and Mod 2 in Merthyr.

Does anyone here recommend them?
Does anyone from around my area have any more local suggestions for training or test taking please?

All suggestions welcome
Thank you

That's no worries. Thank you guys.
I think it is just pretty much dead for training around my area.

I'll be sure to let you know how I get on.

Can't for the life of me understand why a riding school would use Harleys??? That's enough to put you off biking for life!  :thumb_down

Hi i used biketrain wales 2 years ago and found them to be very good.
They were very professional and at the same time very approachable, they will listen to you and go at your pace, unlike some other places i could mention that try to bulldoze you through your test.......give them a ring and have a chat.

Hello all.

Just a little update.
I used that biketrainwales place. I did my Mod 1 training and test about a month ago, and passed that. That I found a little trickey and even dropped the bike on the training, but came through ok for the test :sweat
I just did my Mod 2 on monday and passed that too hehehe

So now i'm good to go.  :cheers

I will be putting my YBR 125 on ebay this weekend, and when i get the cash from that i will be getting a better faster bike, i'm thinking a CBR600F or maybe a VFR 750/800

i can't wait  :sma
