<devils advocate>
It is worth pointing out however that the poor fucker behind the till is just sat there on minimum wage following instructions given to him/her by their boss.  Is it really fair to give them a hard time?

If you ever see the manager behind the till then by all means tuck 'em up as best you can, just thinking it might be a little unfair taking it out on the poor fucker who's just doing as he's told?
</devils advocate>

Wedge, I know that in Tesco at least there is no training given that specifies bikers to remove helmets.
More often than not it's down to the little Hitler behind the till taking it upon himself/herself for whatever reason to discriminate against bikers

Aren't bikers guilty until proven innocent or am I just being biased?

If it is company policy then there should be visible signs for all to see stating so. I for one would not be removing my helmet if these signs are not visible. It is their duty as a company to do so as we as the "general public" don't work for the company and aren't aware of their policies and procedures.

If I were barked at by an attendant via a tanoy system or any other means I would go into the kiosk and state that there were no signs visible signs to say this and that my crystal ball is in being polished as it is misty due to over use.

I know this may sound childish but why not take your helmet off then put on a false beard? Are they really going to ask you to remove your beard as it's company policy? I find if you just go in and they say take your helmet of a firm "No" then just stand there. What now? you've offered to pay they are refusing your money? This is persecution as said do They ask Muslims to de-robe? If you really have a beard do they ask you to shave it off before you pay? If the fek'n security guard comes in to to collect the takings does he have to remove his helmet? Oh no. If you were to start human rights case against these people they would lose hands down. After all if you don't want them taking your picture with cctv you are quite within your rights to refuse.

Just fuelled up in WAITROSE, the condescending bald headed twat behind the counter said to me next time remove your helmet or I won't authorise the pump, I slapped my tenner down and said to him.
."what are you gonna do when 200 of us turn up all at the same time ALL WANTING FUEL AND ALL REFUSING TO REMOVE HELMETS"....

I was so pissed off I went and spoke to the manager, a guy called Alistair Howells, nice bloke to be fair to him, he explained that Waitrose don't have that many fuel stations and that he was covering Abergavenny for the next 6 months.
 I explained that it's a major pain in the arse removing layers of kit, especially when it's wet & cold...He wanted to know what could be done to help out and he would be willing to listen to suggestions, I explained how pissed off people are at his store...he said that if more people brought this to his attention he would get something done to make the garage more biker friendly.....

So go into Waitrose, when the forecourt staff get arsey, have a word with this Alistair chap....may get summat done that way. :thumbsup
bloody good on you fella everyone speak to this alister when they get a arsey take your helmet off and get it sorted
