I rode the Tail of the Dragon in 2006. The Cherohola Skyway which is the continuation further north through NC and West Virgina is more scenic, less crowded, but slower due to the speed limits being 40 max and often less. I'm not sure anyone from Europe would regard the Dragon as being anything too taxing, but dragging a large fully- decked Harley round some of the bends may make it a bit harder. Lots of Goldwings on it when I was there and they didn't have any issues.
Ride a bit, stop, drink tea, ride a bit more.
