Pee Gee motorcycles shut?
« on: November 25, 2011, 07:04:49 PM »
I heard a rumour that Pee Gee's in Caerphilly has closed. Apparently Nick is very ill. I'm very sorry if this is true, just wondered whether anybody else has heard anything?

Yes,  I'd heard the same thing.  But got no more details than you mention.

Ivor's in Thailand and Nick's having Radiotherapy. He's being quite upbeat about it but he told me they'd taken the decision to close over the Christmas period as business is almost non-existent during that period anyway and he's not well enough to run it on his own. He's hoping to be able to come back to it if the radiotherapy is successful. I'm absolutely gutted. These guys have been looking after my bikes for thirty years and have kept me on the road when other's would have ripped me off with huge repair bills. They are more my friends than traders. I'm hoping Nicky's going to be OK but I hate the idea of taking my bike anywhere else. I'll send Nick your regards and if I hear anything I'll post it here.

Thanks for the update. Anybody who knows Nick and Ivor will be very sad to hear this news, but lets hope for a full recovery. Please send our best wishes to him.

Cheers.

Saw Nick and Ivor last week. Nick seems to be on the mend I am glad to say and is walking without crutches now but has indicated to me that he doesn't really want to return to the business and it looks as though it will reopen under new ownership.

Ivor indicated that he might offer his services to the new owner but he's going to be spending half the year in Thailand I think. Nothing seems to be fully settled yet...
