Very sad news in the world of biking is that of the death from cancer of the big CC himself.

For those who may not be familiar with this name, he founded the Cagiva brand and then bought the foundering Ducati company in the early 80's, turning their bikes around from a stodgy workhorse to a sharp tool. He brought the 916 and Monster to the world and under his helm Dukes came to dominate the modern era of Superbikes. He later bought Husqvana and of course MV Agusta. Without him there would be no modern MVs, F4 or Brutale.

He was active within the company up to this very week, with the imminent release of the F3 MV. His son Giovanni takes over the reins.

RIP.
