Interesting route to Port Eynon
« on: June 19, 2011, 06:50:11 PM »
Hi All

Followed this route today, to Port Eynon has some rather nice twisties..
Plus it misses out bloody swansea :thumbsup

I went Church village via Pencoed to Margam park to M4 came off at Junction  47, followed signs to Gower, you route via Penclawd.

About 3 miles out side Penclawd, you come to an Esso Petrol station Turn left then take your first right after cattle grid about 2 miles, which routes you over the common.

"A fantastic undulating road where you can let rip" but as you come over the hill slow down as their is a tight left signposted Port Eynon,  you come out opposite the little police station on the a483.

Turn right you have about 5 miles to go, but there is another petrol station if you need to top of your tank.

Port Eynon has a rather nice beach, superb fish and Chips, a nice Pub and  you can get a decent cupa, but the prices are not ripp offs

On the way back, look for FAIRY hill just past the petrol station and turn left  or go back to the police station lol

If you feel adventurous on the way back, turn off the m4 junction, sign posted for Merthyr for another decent stretch of road...
