I've seen it all now!
« on: May 19, 2011, 12:36:44 PM »
Whilst driving through Glynneath today I could not believe my eyes at what I had just witnessed, a person in a black Ssangyong Rexton had  begrudgingly given way to an articulated lorry, so what was their next manoeuver? Put it into reverse and hit the motorcyclist (that they where totally oblivious of) behind them. I could actually see the back end of the 4x4 rise as it hit the bike, which was a Honda CBR600, it had most of the front smashed in. The rider was OK but it's the same old story I'm afraid.

SORRY I DIDN'T SEE YOU  :handjob

We were on our way home from a day out a couple of weeks ago, Karen was a few cars behind me, they had stopped at a crossroads, the car in front reversed into her, she said she had the horn blasting, brakes jammed on and held on for life, luckily no damage done tho, obviously the car driver couldnt use a mirror

Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

I did wonder that when I did the course years ago, they obviously still teach it! I think you're better off getting to the front, and getting away before everyone else.  :thumb_up

The old Bikesafe and filtering to the front of the queue rears it's ugly head again.

I added A+ when I was on the bike safe. That's in the cycle box. I got told off but did manage to get him to agree it was safer to be in front and seen by all traffic. He then went on about this novel called the highway code :devil
Plus cyclists don't bloody stop at traffic lights so why should we not use the bloody box that costs our bloody money to put on the bloody floor alternatively get the bloody cyclists to bloody cough up for the bloody box :tt
(Lots of blood shed but I'll survive.)

Cyclists do, pobs (pedestrian on bike) dont :) when I couldnt drive i'd cycle everywhere. 400 miles a week at least, i'd always stop and inevitably overtake the pob who ran the red light 300yds up the road. I am guilty of hopping up a kerb mind to go across the pedestrian crossing if the lights are red :devil

I'd filter to the front everytime too, it just makes sense.

filter filter filter filter filter filter filter filter every single time. riding through central london has taught me lots. I am not siting behind a car for it to a) reverse into me as Fuzzy described or  b) get rear ended and squashed.

If i'm stopped at a junction with nothing behind, I tap the brake so brake light flashes until i have stationary vehical behind or safe to go. f*ckers need to open their eyes and pay attention.

I had a strange event yesterday, I was turning right near home in a right turn lane, it was about 5pm so traffic from DVLA was heavy, coming towards me was a small John deer lawnmower, no probs his lights were on, some prick decides to over take the mower by moving into the lane I am in, however I didn't move out of his way, and why should I. the look of terror in his face was brill, he had to jam on the brakes and tuck behing the mower again, narrowly missing the mowers rear. on the junction waiting to come out was a builders van.
I glanced at them they were grinning and clapping and give me the thumbs up.  I think I won the moral high ground against the car driver.
