Ummm there's plenty of cyclists have been prosecuted for exceeding speed limits.

Yeah except its not "excessive speed" its "cycling furiously" (only seems to have been renamed to dangerous cycling in the below RTA excerpt).

That said though "Dangerous Cycling" just as "Dangerous Driving" normally requires you to be dangerous in order to charge you with it. Excessive speed on a clear highway isn't something I'd have thought would tick that box.

Fair point. However historically the offence has been used for speeding cyclists without much more evidence, in the same way as a motorist travelling at 200mph gets done for Dangerous without too much difficulty.

Just saying, don't volunteer for a court hearing.
