and as for sticking to national speed limits on the bikesafe courses?  :scratch

THEY know we don't ride at the posted limits.
WE know we don't ride at the posted limits.

I thought bikesafe was about reducing casualties, so why not apply their training to the more realistic speeds that we ride at? (mostly)

I've got to ask myself when I spot the ROSPA bunch out and about on their hi-viz pans/bmw's what exactly are they doing on their bikes?

Obviously not enjoying themselves anyway  :roll_eyes

as police officers popey they cannot encourage you to break the speed limit  :banghead

they obviously travel faster when they have their lights etc on

pj
if their too slow "do em"

...........you had to stick to the limts, it must depend on the instuctor you have, ours was happy to get to around 75 80 but all limts of 50 and below were stuck to. They may be a boring bunch but the can get those Beemers and Pans to hustle though!

When I did my BikeSafe the police said "You're on a bike, we know you'll break the limits. All we want to do is try and make you safer while you do. We don't like having to come and scrape up the pieces any more than you'd want to be those pieces".  Maybe it's because most bike-cops are just everyday bikers when not on duty, they know the score.

Andy.
The instructions said "Use Windows XP or greater" so I installed Linux!
A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those?

every time u throw your leg over your bike your risking it , if u want to sit in traffic you may as well buy a car , we all know why we ride bike's and what advantages they have, filtering is part and parcel of biking, perhaps a TV advert showing this situation to car driver's/non- bikers will highlight this point, then we can all live happily ever after, maybe  :group_hug
