Free motorcycling courses in Powys

The Road Safety Unit at Powys County Council are currently offering FREE places on their Ride On courses. The course is aimed to be an introduction to advanced motorcycling and is completely free to Powys residents.

Dates are:
3rd September - Llandrindod
25th September - Brecon
1st October - Llandrindod

Shame you're not able to take part Triple595, but bear it in mind when you do return to biking, we're aiming to run courses year on year as part of our motorcycling initative.

If you're not a resident of Powys, you can contact your local Road Safety Unit (details can be found at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) to find out if they run free or subsidised courses in your area.

Just to let you all know, due the success of the Ride On courses in 2011, the Road Safety Unit will be scheduling further courses for Powys residents in 2012. If you're interested in taking part email your name and address to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and you'll be contacted when dates have been confirmed. You'll even get a free Emergency Biker Pack in the post for showing an interest.

You'll spend a day with RoSPA tutors from Shropshire and Powys Advanced Riders (SAPAR) who will assess your skills and give you some pointers on how to improve your riding technique, hopefully making your riding experience more enjoyable. You'll also be able to view footage of your riding skills thanks to the bike mounted cameras used by the SAPAR guys.

Alternatively just turn up at Carmarthen Morisson's cafe any Sunday@ 10.00 am  & Carmarthen & West Wales IAM will be glad to give you an observed ride.
