:scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter :scooter Right I have put a ride together and hope to get people to come along for September the 11th. I will have my son riding pillion but this does not mean we will be holding the group up as the route is not over demanding but still a nice ride and if anybody else would like to bring their sons or daughters would be great.  I am not normally one for organising but I like riding over this way.   So here goes folks.
I was thinking people could meet up along the M4 at various junctions heading east and the final meet at McDonalds car park off J24.  You take the 2nd junction (A48 Motorway) if coming off the M4 East bound, go round the next roundabout to come back on yourself and Mcdonalds turning is on your left. Say 9 0'clock meet, coffee and leave by 9:30?

The start from here is up the A449/A40 to Ross-on-Wye.  It is not the most exciting run but for this ride it needs to be done and from here it does get better.
We can have a quick coffee stop here (about half hour) and a chance to fill up for those that forgot when they left home or just woke a bit later than planned.  (coffee stop 1)
A good distance then to the next stop unless people would prefer another quick coffee stop, this is flexible.

Leave Ross-on-Wye (A449) heading through Hereford onto the A438 through kings Acre heading west.
This road is a single carriageway with free flowing easy bends and crests untill we arrive at Whitney-on-Wye where we would depart onto the B4350 (old Brecon Rd) via theWhitney-on-Wye toll bridge.  There is a 50p charge when the toll is operational (it's when they can be bothered).  This road takes us on a scenic route into and through Hay-on-Wye and meets back up with the A438 at Glasby.
A short distance up the road from here we will have our lunch stop at the Honey Cafe in Bronllys where the reviews are worth checking out online.  (Lunch)
If anybody needs to top up their fuel there are plenty of stations from here to Brecon and we could agree on a station such as the mill station in Three Cocks (the 'Three Cocks Inn'  has now closed)  before leaving the Honey Cafe.
We will continue along the A438/A470 towards the B4062 junction where we will turn off to ride through Brecon.
Heading through Brecon back to the A470 following this road to the brecon reservoir where we will turn off to the A4059 for a coffee stop at Terrys burger van. (Coffee Stop 2)
Leaving there we will continue over the common to Hirwaun where we will meet the A465 that leads East to (A470) Merthyr and Cardiff and West to Neath/Swansea or there's the A4061 Rhigos road over the mountain to the Rhondda fawr valley.
I think it would be a good idea to discuss at Terrys who is riding in which diection from Hirwaun for company on the journey home as I think this would be a good breakaway point.  I will either be heading towards the M4/Neath or the Rhigos rd, still undecided.

Hope to get some response to this,  This is a Ride not the get together coffee break days I've heard complaints about.  There are two coffee breaks, beginning and end and a lunch break in the middle.  Not sure of the mileage but it is fair amount of miles and a good few hours ride.  With the 3 stops I would think we would be out till about 3:30 pm.

This is the first ride I've suggested and would feel a right nanna if nobody wanted to go  :handjob.  Shattin myself. lol. :sweat :sweat

Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?
