WORD OF WARNING AND POLITE REQUESTS.
« on: April 26, 2010, 11:31:31 PM »
As always, the success of things like this are due to the weather. Obviously people are going to turn up should it rain (touch wood it dont), but the numbers could swell if it is a nice day.

I am just asking you all. PLEASE fill up with petrol BEFORE you get to South Wales Superbikes.
The tail end Marshal will be instructed NOT to wait for anyone pulling off for petrol at the beginning of the run. It would not be fair on the other marshals waiting for the tail end rider, if he is sat stationary outside a petrol station because someone didnt have the sense to fill up before the ride.

ALSO...... It is planned, the first stop will be in Abergavenny Bus Station. This is a working Bus Station on a Saturday. SO PLEASE BE CAREFULL WHERE YOU PARK!!!!!!  We cannot go disrupting the public road users or services.

We will probably take a break there for an hour. Now use your heads ladies and gents. There are two petrol stations on the way out. Ont on the junction at the lights, and another 3 mins down the A40. If you know the route, and can make it to Brecon, then use that station and stop at Terrys Burger Van (second stop). If you need juice at Abergavenny. Everyone try and stagger the fill ups over the hour. It will be no good 150 bikes pulling into the petrol station after the hour break is up...... Use that hour to get your juice before we leave again. We will probably stop at Terrys for half hour, 40 mins. I will designate a marshal to take a group who want petrol in Brecon to that petrol station. That group can then catch up with the opthers who will have stopped at the burger van.

I would just like to re-iterate comments I already have made in other threads, If you do know the route, and dont need the assistance of the marshals, then you are welcome to go your own way, and stop at the designated sites mentioned. This would help keep the main pack a little smaller.  Again, if you know the route and dont need assistance, maybe getting juice before the designated stops, or just after would be an idea. It would help keep some numbers down on the forecourts.

We will do all we can to try and get everyone to the end of the ride. We will try and make sure there is no one off getting lost somewhere. BUT! We are not babysitters. We ask you to use some common sense in all this. And we cannot guarantee that everyone will be 100% happy at the end of it. But please try and realise, that with the potential numbers involved. A bit of patience will be required.

SIGNING ON - There will be a desk inside the doorway of South Wales Superbikes. If you could make your way there AS SOON as you arrive to fill in the form and make your donation. You will then recieve your voucher for a free tea or coffee.  The ride will leave at 10:30 prompt. And signing on will finish at 10:00. This should give the last few to sign on 30mins to have a cuppa before we leave. Obviously if there are late arrivals, we will sign them on after 10:00...... But please dont go getting a coffee at 10:20 and expect to finish it. Like I said, the ride will leave at 10:30 prompt.
