Wheelie School
« on: June 16, 2011, 10:04:34 PM »
Evening all.

I promised myself last year that I'd sign up to wheelie school this year... So the time has come to put my name on the dotted line and get involved!  :scooter

Before I book anything I was just wondering:

1) Has anybody been to any of the wheelie schools that exist and might be able to recommend one/impart some advice? Having googled it there are a couple around Silverstone/Milton Keynes but also a couple of others in various parts of England.

2) Would anybody else from the forum be up for attending one? Haven't decided on a date yet but thinking Sat 13th Aug or close to this date. Doesn't necessarily have to be a weekend - could take annual leave and do a midweek date. Also a bit of a trek to get there and back and do a day's (attempted) wheeling all in the same day so contemplating a B&B and could then take in a few A roads rather than blast it down the motorway.

I've kind of assumed I'll end up doing it on my own but more than happy coordinate with others who may be interested.

Any thoughts/advice on the above welcome!

I've only tried the wheelie thingy at M&P last year. Other than that all my wheelies -bar 1 - have been by accident  :sweat so I guess it's a school I could consider  :tup2

Yeah - most of them seem to be the best part of 200 squids but we could probably negotiate a discount if we got a bit of a group booking on the go. Reckon we'd do well to get it down anywhere near £150 each... Guess this may put a few people off.

I've decided I'm going to take the financial hit and go for it though.

Check out learn2wheelie.co.uk and speak to Nick, he has recently set up a school where you start on quads to learn BP ( balance point) then progress on to 2 wheels, Nick is a great guy and one of the top stunt riders in the UK, It is down in Surrey & if you say STUNTUK recomended you, you Might be able to twist his arm for a group discount, Oh yeah, all his instructors are pro stunt riders aswell

No not yet. Had the 13th Aug pencilled in (I don't like to rush in to these things!) but as there were a few other events being planned around that time - Llandow track day, Higgy's trip to Ron Haslam's racing school and also the Scotland trip on here I held back booking as I wasn't sure what to do.

Decided now I'll definitely do the wheelie school that weekend as Scotland trip is a bit too long for me, Llandow track day is the weekend before when I'm away, and the Ron Haslam thing has been cancelled.

Still 5 weeks away but will probably get it booked up in the next week.

I'll report back once I am crowned the wheelie king.
