Urgent appeal for Donations
« on: May 24, 2011, 04:59:29 PM »
I am fundraising officer for a new charity called Blood Bikes Wales. We will be making collections and delivering urgent blood, medical supplies and organs etc throughout the south Wales area. After we are more established we will extend this service to the whole of Wales. Note that this is the first service of its kind anywhere in Wales and only the 12th in the whole of the UK. We will be operating in out of hours, between 7pm to 7am and 7 days a week. All of us, including our riders, are volunteers.

We are holding our charity launch at the Aberdare Park Races in July (9/10th). The organisers of the Aberdare Races (AMCC) have kindly allowed us to setup a stall on the weekend to promote our new charity. They have also kindly allowed us to hold a charity auction at The Aberdare Miner's Welfare club on the evening of the 9th July. We will be auctioning various bike and non-bike related items to raise extra funds. Although there have been some very generous people who have donated items, we are still looking for donations... Please note we are NOT looking for money, but rather new (packaged/sealed and/or boxed) items, be it bike gloves, bike clothing, spares, consumables or indeed whatever you could spare us?

If you think you could help us please reply to this posting or contact me directly and I will get one of our members to pick up any items from you. We all carry I.D cards.

Our new website will be up and running soon at: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login .
We are already on Facebook at: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully we shall see many of you at the Aberdare weekend!

we are having a lot of support from the freewheelers but as far as a charity is concerned we are independant.

Blood Bikes Wales are going to a meeting the national association of blood bikes (NABB) at the weekend, and we hope to become affiliated. So we'll be a sister organisation with Freewheelers. x x
