Aberdare Park racing... July

Hi all. Just wanted (in case its not been previously mentioned) to let you know that the Aberdare Park races are almost here again.

Amongst all the stalls etc there will also be a number of buckets being passed round for the new "Blood Bikes Wales" charity. They (we) will be delivering emergency medical supplies, blood and organs across the South wales area in out of hours. Note that all our riders are volunteers and do this in their spare time, all through the year!
Any donations will be gratefully received!

Should mention that camping is available very close by, further details for this or anything else for the weekend can be gained via Derek on: 02920 337036.

I worked there last year,a bloody great weekend,met some fab people,went out on the pop in aberdare,had a great time.Will be there this year,tho not working.If you have never been,its a very scary race,but full of Petrolheads..............

And Aberdare in the night is quite refreshing,actually better than a night out in newport.....

i know i wont be popular for saying this but i think £13 to get in is taking the pizz add to that what they charge for secure parking and looking after your helmet things start to mount up especially if you take the other half !
as for tracks it aint cadwell is it !! ( or even a llandow and see how many times that gets a slagging )
so sorry i,ll be off to something i think offers more this year.......................

I thought that the entry fee was pretty reasonable.

Last year's event was well organised, entertaining and had a real 'small club feel' to it... refreshing at a time when almost all of the other bike-related events here in Blighty are overly corporate and do little other than unashamedly rape your wallet at EVERY opportunity.

Comparing the racing to Cadwell is totally missing the point... Aberdare Park is more 'road circuit' than closed circuit... a totally different experience for competitor and spectator, alike.

We'll be there.

i think youre not getting the point i just feel that its not value for money, i travelled to the northwest 200 this year and even though the event was basically a washout what there was in racing made it worth while . i will quite happily be making regular trips to northern ireland to see decent racing in 2012 , which i suggest you try to see real value for money  !!!!!!!
