Dates are easy with me. I can book time off quite quickly. You lot fight amongst yourselves then let me know.

Route will be sorted by the weekend. I will work out best places to kip each night and find some cheap and cheerful b&b's. If I need deposits for rooms then we cam meet up and sort that out maybe next weekend??

Next weekend the 9th? That would be great as I'm away this weekend. May be we could meet somewhere in the middle? Suggestions?

Guys... am I wrong or haven't the dates been set about two pages ago>

Its getting confusing now, will wait in antisipation and see what arises from all this :sma

It's confusing me aswell, and I am not even going  :scratch

Oi Nero, who asked you :tap

Ok I did say sort it out amongst yourselves :boxing

Dates I think is best to say 12,13,14,15 of August? I'm flexible so this can be changed to the week before if you all agree?

Route-
Day one: Upto Gretna Green via Abergavenny,Hereford, Shrewsbury, Chester, then a blast on the M6  :zzz past Manchester, Preston, Carlisle and into Gretna- Approx 280 miles. 7 hours riding, some motorways.

Day two: From Gretna upto Fort William and Ben nevis, via Lockerbie, Dumfries, Kilmarnock, Dumbarton, Lock Lomond, Crianlarich, Ballaculish and into Fort William.- Approx 210 miles. NO Motorways!!!!!! :thumb_up 5 hours riding

Day three: From Fort William across to Whitley bay via, Dunblane, Alloa, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Mussleburgh, kelso, Northumberland national park, Newcastle onto Whitley bay. Approx 260 Miles. Again No motorways!!! :thumb_up 6-7 hours riding

Day Four: The beast :sweat
From Whitley bay home via, Darlignton, Richmond, through the Yorkshire dales, Skipton, Blackburn, Warrington, Chester, Wrexham, Oswestry, Newtown, Llandridnod wells, Brecon, Abergavenny. Approx 330 miles 8 hours riding, some motorways.

Day three and four are negotiable in as much as its a long old way to the other side of the country and back but by doing this we get to ride through Northumberland national park and the yorkshire dales. It just means that day four is gonna be a long'un!! :eek

As for B&B's etc. Cheaper the better just clean and secure. If we need to stay outside the main towns etc to get it a bit cheaper then I'm all for it.

Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions/concerns etc.

Thanks, Lee. :cheers

10 years ago I did the Isle of Skye on a Bandit 600 mate and survived  so a VFR will do that no problem  :thumbsup

I found this website that makes interesting reading but warning it's written by Americans so bare that in mind :-

Apart from pants and visa card it is worth taking a bike chain if you have room. If a couple of us take them we can lock the bikes together - just in case we have to leave them somewhere not so secure
