Rideout to Scotland?

My holidays are fixed, if you are thinking of going between 23-31 July i wouldnt mind joining you. how far are you planning to travel in one journey, i reckon its over 300 mile to the scottish border, probably stretching my endurance.

Well Doll and I are definately interested.... We're going to Scotland sometime in July anyway... Would be nice to go with others.
Whats the way forward from here though?

Well I'm still interested. I'm easy on the dates end of July / August but I will need to know dates soon so I can book the time off work.

Ullapool is a good Highland, West Coast base, then you can take in Apple Cross, or Oban. There's a set of bunk houses in Ullapool and Oban that are cheap.

First week of August?

Leave early Friday 5th- Return Late Monday 8th.
                                   OR
Leave early Friday 5th- Return Late Tuesday 9th.

Depends how far up North and how many miles we want to cover?

Im working on 250-300 miles a day. Between 1200-1500 miles total.

Friday Night on the Scottish border somewhere. Then into Scotland for 1-2 nights. Then maybe a stop in Aberystwyth or somewhere for the last night?
 
3-4 nights accomodation is gonna be between £75-£100 each if we share. more in a room the better!!!

Then petrol- Approx £120-£150

Thats £200-£250 each without grub and beer. So about £300 for the trip is gonna be about right ish. I aint eating posh and drinking ten pints a night!! Im going to ride my bike not go on a pub crawl.

Anyone got anything to add??

ValleyGixer - all sounds good to me. And there is always the option of camping for a night or 2 - weather permitting - just to keep the cost down
