Need a route to Taunton

Hey all.
I'm looking at going over to Taunton on Friday to visit a human of the female variety. First time I've done the journey on the bike so just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a route less monotonous than motorway all the way.
So its from cardiff to Taunton, any suggestions of good roads along the way would be great.

once did that route to the Butlins there.  At night. on my R1.  full of cocaine
Was fun  :wheelchair
Some nice lanes towards the end, I'll try and find the route

Ive done it in my car from Cardiff J32 to J25 on the M5 in 45mins that was fun.
