Dominican republic is very reasonably priced.  We have been there twice.  It is very safe to be out and about anywhere on the island unlike jamaica.  To see the island properly, away from all the towns, you need to travel on the dirt roads.  We hired quads and a guide,  can't remember how much per day but it was very reasonable.  A fraction (about a 1/3) of what the hotel/holiday company would charge for arranging it.  Challenging mountain roads that are fun,  You would need off road experience to do it on two wheels,  my wife managed it on a quad (250cc Auto) and she don't ride a bike, me and my son shared a quad as he has off road experience, Some parts took more strength to hold it than he had so I would take control from the back and I would have to ride it from the front when we went through towns.

Just a Caribbean holiday suggestion with a difference.  :scratch

P.S:-  When we went my son had a small rucksack with sweets and colouring books and pencils to give out to the children of some of the small villages we passed through.  There is no hunger on the island as they are sufficient that way but lack the simplest of luxuries.   The shocking thing to me was when we were on a local beach away from the tourists my son had to teach the local kids the rules of playing touch.   I thought that was a basic universal game.

Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?

I gathered you were joking but sometimes when a seed is planted...  well you never know.
And yes we did have a good time,  I will try and get some pics posted on here.   Our caribbean pics are not the usual boring hotel complex pics so many come back with.   If that's someones thing well great for them but we wanted to see the island and the culture that is native to there not the brit and canadian filled complex all day everyday.  I did have looks like I was a fish out of water in one town where I was the only non Dominican walking down the street,  never felt threatened just the local residents couldn't work out why I was there.   When I left their mini market with a load of quality 151 proof (75.5%) Rum, I'm sure my motive was obvious.   :drunk

Brecon to hereford is a ride I've done so many times but never leominster before,  I know we stopped somewhere in between there and hereford for food and that's about the best directions I could offer.   The ride before that We were near Oxford, and it's nowhere near london.  :scratch  :rofl  Some geography lesson for me that was.

Well I've decided to treat myself to a sat nav, so now I don't care where I end up at  :rofl :rofl

Well there's great weather forecast for the week, wonder what the weekend has in store for us?

Forgot my tax expires on Friday,  need to sort that out before the weekend.   My wife is loving my biking interest at the mo.   :nails  :nono

That'd be bloody typical, I usually get mid week off and the weather is only good at weekends. Now I get a few weekends off and it'll tip it down.

Strange, I don't ever remember having pissed on God's cat!
Ride a bit, stop, drink tea, ride a bit more.
