Euro Trip August 2012
« on: August 17, 2011, 10:18:53 AM »
Who would be up for a trip next summer? I dont mind organising a trip abroad if people want to go. South of France, Italy, Spain etc?

I'm 100% going with or without the missus. I would like think that we could get a group of 10 to go and spend 7-10 days touring. 200-250 miles a day.

Would anyone be up for this? Where would you like to go?  :thumbsup

Cheers, Lee.

Would it tie in with something like a round of a Moto GP or just a general tour? Been all over europe in the wagon, from Gib to the foot of Italy and up to Denmark. I was never a fan of Spain so my choice would be Italy, you could follow the route nationals through France and go via the Mont Blonc or Freijus tunnels, or go via Swiss, both spectacular sceanery. Would love to do the Stelvio Pass as well.  :thumb_up

I agree with you Jason, some spectacular scenery in Spain too. San Sebastion to Pamplona, then on to Zaragoza was a favourate route. I just preferred the run to Italy. :thumb_up

Definitely up for this mate . If you want any help with organisation then let me know. I don't think I could persuade the missus to come but I will work on it.
I fancy going down to the Pyrenees but I am easy really - anywhere South with big huge mountains  :thumb_up

Sounds good to me, this is what I want to be getting into, going with people who have done it before would be a great help.

The trip is an idea but fair chance it will go ahead.

The new year will the time to sort everything out properly. I'm definately going and hopefully we can get 6-10 in total.

I'm a 'possible'.

Had planned on a 10 day tour of Spain this August but my youngest daughter got married so there went the spare funds !  Was gutted to have to cancel.

Last August three of us went to the Dordogne for 10 days, a fantastic region for biking. I booked a gite and we based ourselves there and set off in different directions each day. The gite was in the centre of the old town of Sarlat, the best and businest tourist location in the Dordogne. Great to get back from a day on the bike, quick shower, then out the front door and 50 yards to the bars, restaurants, street entertainment etc. Had many family hols there in the past so knew the format was a winner.

Spain would be on my list again for next year via Santander ferry.

Possible from me. Not had a holiday in like 4 years so looking to get away at some point.

Never ridden in europe so would be good to do it with people who know their stuff.
