Pushing too hard when you're not confident is definitely not a good thing. Confidence and reactions need to be built up slowly at your own pace otherwise you don't enjoy your riding, which is after all the main aim of going on rideouts.

As already discussed we should all stay together for the next rideout, As I've said I'm happy to be tail-ender and stay at the back with whoever wants to take their time. It's all about being out and enjoying yourself in good company on a rideout, not taking unnecessary risks, and staying safe.

I guess we'll all be better group riders on the next rideout now with a bit of experience behind us.

Forgot to say that Kery and Bloke did really well with so little experience behind them.  :thumb_up

I've only been riding 3 years myself and so I remember EXACTLY how daunting it can be riding with others so early on, even more so when you've never met them before. Well done both, looking forward to seeing you on the next one !  :thumbsup

Come off a dual carriageway roundabout, carrying a bit of speed with your foot dangling down below the gear change, you'll see what I mean :)

I was inbetween the fasts and the slows. Had been most of the time trying to keep both of you lot in view, just didn't work I was rocking between 80 and 85 at that point when I lost both groups, so decided to accelerate to keep up with the fasts, think I only just caught up in time too.

Basically, my own fault trying to play with the big boys, when I'm not ready tbh, and that's my point. I don't mind if you ride fast or slow :)

1 year on and only 3800ish miles from my test, your "slow" is still enough to make me terrified :)

I was torn between which group and decided to let the fast group get ahead for a while then go a bit quicker to catch them.  You said you tried to tag onto me when I made a break for them but couldn't manage to keep hold of me.  Really sorry, just didn't realise you were trying to,  I would have slowed my pace a bit for you.  I've tagged onto many a rider in the past, even strangers, to drag me along with them and to learn from them.  I wouldn't have left you behind on purpose,  another prime example of inexperience of group riding, SORRY.
Point taken, lesson learned.
If I go for a blast to clear the cobwebs I go alone,  I prefer to do my faster riding with nobody or nothing else to break my concentration.   :scooter
Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?
