Bugger. Got a speeding letter today from the morning of this ride out.  Was on the way to meet everyone at the start, 36 in a 30 on lake road east apparently. Didn't see a camera, no flash nothing so a bit of a supprise. On the plus side it reminds me they are out there and to watch speed. Anyway, still enjoyed it!

Sorry to hear this news.  There are no fixed cameras on Lake Road East.  They use a mobile van. 

Why not write to them and ask for a speed awareness course.  You have to pay but you don't get points.

It must've been well hidden! I understand why they monitor that road though since lots of pedestrians, especially small children. Not a soul at that time of the morning, mind. Was trying to remember a cashpoint along the route to the mountain so I allegedly might have crept over 30.  My understanding is once you send the nip back then they tell you what they are going to do, regarding points and fine or awareness course? Or do you reckon I should send a note as well to the address on the nip?

It wouldn't hurt to put a letter in when you send it back.  Say you"ve had a break from riding and getting back into it,  (or something like that), and that you would benefit from a speed awareness course.

It's worth a try.
