Long weekend to Olivers Mount
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:07:03 PM »
Got this from the Auto66 club. Although mainly for classics all are welcome.

We could fit you in with a parade at the Barry Sheene meeting and also an
area for your club to display in the main trade area
Next years date for the Barry Sheene is 24th June and it could be that on
the 23rd we could have a static show for vintage and one make machines.
If you can confirm more details of what you have in mind it would be
appreciated.

1st thought

1) Will you be taking a classic?
2) What range has the bike?
3) How long would you be willing to travel in a day - miles and time.
4) Would you prefer B&B or are you happy to camp
5) Are you happy to travel along motorways or duel carriage ways to get some where fast
6) How many days could you make over the weekend - initial plan friday am to monday pm.

First plan:

Friday to Derbyshire by A roads  ~200 miles - over night
Saturday to Squires  A roads      ~80 miles - overnight, maybe onto Scarborough ( A roads)and overnight +~80 miles
Sunday early to Scarborough ~80 or travel to race course and meet up with locals, upto 10 miles
Sunday - after races - to Tanhill ( glorious A roads through the Moors and Dales ) ~ 100 miles
Monday - Home ( A roads or Motorway for speed) ~ 300 miles

Total mileage about 700.
but my right elbow got heavier
