i can see your point fuzz, however look at the 19 hundreds, to do 100mph in a car was not imagineable, then breaking 200mph, most family cars can do 120..... if you see my point, ?i do believe at the moment they are at the limit of grip. perhaps the superstock is just a very well balanced tool, having the extra horsepower on the superbike may not be useful?
I'm don't really get it but it's being developed so there must be some advantage to it. I imagine this is likely to improve the front end grip which is something you often see failing at extream angles and not always when still on the brakes.
