After buying myself the speed triple earlier this year i have just bought another bike, a K9 Suzuki Gsxr 1000.
Tried a few bikes over the summer, Ducati 1098s, Bmw S1000rr(twice) and an Aprillia Rsv4.
There were lots of things i like about the 1098 but had my doubts over owning it long term, the bm was great, did everything well, but too clinical, the Rsv4 had an amazing engine was such a small bike, it was a no no from the first few miles of the test ride.
Ended up with the gsxr, bought it at a sensible price considering the mods to it, got Ohlins shock, Yoshi exhausts, Galfer discs, Brembo calipers and master cylinder etc.
Had some tacky stickers on it when i picked it up yesterday but they are already off

Yep, was Gary's bike. Wasnt cheap but worth it for the exhausts and brakes on it, came with the original bits so i can swap it back when it comes time to change again.
Didnt think it had been ridden hard, 4k out of the rear, normally manage 2.5-3k myself.
Only ridden it home from newport and out for half hour last night, need to check the tyre pressures as the front feels strange compared to my k8.
Hope its dry tomorrow , will get up towards Newtown for a spin
