Spotted A4232 7am 14-10-11 Blow Out
« on: October 14, 2011, 10:51:09 PM »
So did you spot me on the bank at around 7am this morning?

Hope to make an early start in work, jump on the bike at about 6:45 head to tesco culver to fill up. Join the link rd A4232 following another bike going down the slip rd. Lorry on the inside both of us puul out to pass as we take the sweeping left bend and SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHIIIIITTTTTTTT back wheel as flat as a pancake in a split second.  :shocked

My ars starts twitching backend dancing around, off throttle as the bike wants to head right to the centre. Try and level bike up while still turning left  :scratch hazards on and make way way to the bank on the left.  :sweat easy.

Called to plod as couldn't get my bike on the grass. They seem to get heaver with a flat tyre.
Fair shout plod took about 20min pulled up behind and helped get the bike out of the way. AA took about an 1hr nice bloke. Drove me around trying to get another tyre.
Kid you not a hole about the size of 5p plus. Tried the temp puncher kid. Had to laugh I would have need 5 plugs to fill that hole.  :eek
Anyway no joy, no one had a tyre except Bevans who had an alternative, wanted mega bucks. So phoned around and got through to MG tyre repair. Mark top bloke  :thumb_up came to my works and swap the tyre over no problem result and some change.  :clap

So all in all an eventful morning still enjoyed the ride home.  :scooter :scooter

Well handled!  What are the details of the mobile tyre guy. If he's worth a mention I might give him a try.

Cheers.

Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

There is only one thing worse than a rear blowout & that's a front blowout.
Good on you for getting safely out of a potentially lethal situation.
