Dark night and mornings
« on: October 31, 2011, 06:04:49 PM »
First dark morning today and had to leave early to get to Exmouth  :thumb_down any way driving down to the M4  6.15ish a young guy on a 125 with L plates doing 60-70 (not a bad speed) on Cwmbran drive, lights on  :thumbsup but pitch black and he was wearing BLACK JACKET, BLACK HELMET BLACK TROUSERS WTF no high viz strips on his jacket at all.
Black looks cool at times but come on better safe that damaged by some half asleep box driver come on put just a little hi viz on  :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I've got black and gray jacket but there it's this reflective piping, looks black in normal light and at night it turns white.

My textiles have reflective stuff on them but the leathers don't have that much. As I have 2 hi-vis vests and have not yet worn either I might start using one this winter.

...don't actually know where they came from...

Hi-Viz may have no effect at all when some num-nutts is out to get you, but it can only help the insurance claim afterwards.

Worth it just for that.

I imagine it was L-plates on Cwmbran Drive, not on the M4 itself? :fishing

But yes, at night very important to be visible, methinks. But if you've got a drop-down black visor in your helmet, it's so hard to resist the temptaion to flick it down, even at night! :cool
