Youd be looking at some serious law suits on your hands there dude. Apparently stuff like that falls under the data protection act.

Altho.....You are legally allowed to make a citizens arrest to people causing public alarm, distress, or harassment (public order offences)....so next copper that pulls me over is gunna be put under citizens arrest by myself as them pulling me over all the time is causing me alarm, distress and its definatly harassing me. Might give them all something to think about if everyone did this?

Nope...the registration is already in the public domain as it's strapped on the outside of a vehicle....so not a DPA breach. You may find yourself in bother for section 51 Obstructing a Constable in the Execution of his/her duties though.

They can give me a section 51 again....it can go to court find i was pulled for no reason and ill be sent on my way. And while im at it ill also sue for wasting my time and obstructing me from going about my buisness/duties. Incase you didnt know the law...you have the right to remain annonymous and dont acctually have to give police any details when requested as its not law...its a request!

And while the number plates may be in the public domain....so is your name and address but its still protected via the data protection act. If you think taking pictures of police number plates is legal.....might i suggest your the first to take photo's and post them?
As looking up on the laws....it doesnt seem all that legal to me...... a police officer on the streets is also in the public domain....and its illegal to take a portrate photo or film without their permison.

As I said mate, posting pics and or reg details of unmarked plod cars on line would land you in hot water, just unlikely it would be a DPA breach.

Anyhows i'm not gonna derail this thread on legal bollocks anymore  :tup2

ahaha i just think it's a good idea for us all to turn around and say

"I am a busy person sorry, I am not refusing to give you my information but as you have made a formal request for my information, I am formally declining to give you any information on myself. As i am not under arrest i believe that makes us both equal in the eyes of the law so as equals i am making a formal request that i be let on my way." With a big smile in the politest way possible.

These Dibbles are dribbles and im getting sick and tired of them!

Its not rude...its not offensive...and its not illegal.

Errr......not quite

Even without commiting an offence you still need to (upon request) provide your identity to a police officer
They can keep you in custody until they establish who you are.

Trust me, im even angrier about it than you.
This isnt a free country anymore plain and simple.

A section 49 or 59 or whatever it is (an asbo one) can be given WITHOUT ability to appeal and without a court even being part of it.
Makes my piss boil

Dear o dear...pope...if you believe that aswell then the laws got you where they want you...clueless.

Go on youtube...time in "Everything is ok" and have a look at some of the video's....might open your eyes to things u can lawfully do and say.

No but yesterday i used the line of ""I am a busy person sorry, I am not refusing to give you my information but as you have made a formal request for my information, I am formally declining to give you any information on myself. As i am not under arrest i believe that makes us both equal in the eyes of the law so as equals i am making a formal request that i be let on my way."

And was let on my way. I think if everyone tried it instead of shooting it down straight off without trying then maybe u wouldnt all be trying to tear it apart.

Why wouldn't you give your details??  If you aint a scum sucking retard with fingers in all the wrong pies then whats the problem.  I agree the cops can be a bit of a nuisance now and again, and could sometimes use their time on more pressing issues, but I guarantee you, without them, we would be proper f*cked!

Because they have your details from reading the plate anyway.
