unmarked camera bikes
« on: May 03, 2011, 07:37:48 PM »
We were in JT's Swansea earlier when one of the guys working there told me about the unmarked bikes the police are using around Llandovery.
K7 gsxr 1000
L0 black gsxr 1000
Blackbird, think it was black
Hayabusa, blue 08 i think
All bikes with front and rear cameras.
One of their customers caught up with the Blackbird, it shot of, he chased after it for a fair few miles, it slowed down, they came across a marked car parked up and a copper in the middle of the road calling him over.
The blackbird went round the rounndabout and pulled up next to the cop car, unzipped his jacket showing his uniform.
They had him on video exceeding 4 speed limits, overtaking on double whites and hitting 142 mph !
The cop on the Blackbird was apparantley answering an emergency call hence he shot off, the call was cancelled, so he later slowed down  :handjob
The guy is waiting to go to court
Watch out peeps
Mark

I was under the impression that any police vehicle, whether marked or not, had to display blue lights & sound sirens if "responding to a call".

Sounds like a c*nts trick to me.

Don't think it's manditory - but it helps  :tup2

I really hope this is just biker bullshit that you hear now and again.

Unmarked bikes with cameras on will end road riding for me  :thumb_down

Nowhere is safe from the police, next we will have a tracker fitted to all our bikes to look at how fast we are travelling.

I would seriously love a kwaka ninja 250. 60mpg and top speed of about what 90-100 mph? Perfect for a blast through Brecon without the speed/power to lose the license as easily and economical for commuting.

I would love for that to be an option as it is in the us. Lower insurance premiums, free tracker if stolen and only requires me to obey a fairly easy law which i'm sure we all do anyway ;)

me, Beads and my mate Chris were talking about this at the weekend when we spotted an RVF400 at Llandovery caff

I said it would be interesting if bike capacity was limited to 400cc overnight.
Everyone would be on RVF's or VFR's.

The weekend warriors would stop plowing into hedges as they would no longer be approaching them from straights at 180mph.

It'd all be about keeping momentum up and corner speed
It'd be carnage.
Slipstreaming everywhere, tucked in to the maximum.  :thumbsup

Surely the logical thing here would be to show some self restraint, and not be suckered into having 'a dice' with a bike you didnt know, or a rider of whos skills you would be unsure of.  :scratch

As said many times before....... Time and a place and all that.  :scooter

:i_agree and , I KNOW some of you will hate this .. but if he was doing 142mph he deserves a ticket ..... keep those speeds  on the race track ..
