yehis is true ... but the police have drivers running scared .. It's not about safety it's about money making ...

All of the lovely roads leading out of our small town are now down to 50mph .. all good A roads with no real tight bends or other wise .. I am not saying they should be used as a race track ( those that do ... will do it regardless )  but it really is not needed to be lowered from natinal speed limit down to 50 ...
...
Awaits avalanche of lectures  :tt  :thumbsup  :rofl

:i_agree They are putting so many speed limits down in some places that's not needed, through villages, yes fair enough, what do they want everybody to go on to push bikes or what.  :taz

Let's face it we all exceed posted limits. The phrase " if you can't do the time, don't do the crime " springs to mind.
Speed limits are there to protect people & if they are ignored then I face the consequences i.e. fine, damage to myself, injury to others.

How many times a day do you see motorists using Mobile phones, driving in poor conditions with defective or no lights, not signaling, undertaking, overtaking on double white lines, parking on a zig zag near pedestrian crossings. Is the law enforced? NO! and why, because there is no profit for the BASTARDS, yet all the above mentioned are as likely to cause accidents as breaking the speed limit.

It's all down to revenue, road safety my arse did they give a fuck if you hit a pothole last year and was thrown into the path of another vehicle?  :wheelchair

The penalties for those offences are much the same as speeding. The profits would be the same.
/Just sayin'.

The difference is that speed enforcement is scientific (like drink driving) rather than subjective and argumentative. People are faced with evidence that they cannot contest, they pay the ticket without going to court. Also politically its a no-brainer - all those Daily Mail readers writing letters about idiots exceeding limits are voters.

Everyone loves speed enforcement - when its outside their own house.
